My name is Cece Loessin, I am the founder of vegan/gluten free bakery, Zucchini Kill, longtime music enthusiast, guitarist for bands So Unloved, and Phobia, animal lover/ethical vegan, and fifth generation Texan. I have spent my life touring with my bands, eating and blogging about food, petting all the puppies and kitties, and celebrating friendship with the amazing people in my life. I can headbang to any live music, and I am really inspired by strong, independent women, especially Wendy O Williams from The Plasmatics. My hero and partner in life is a man called Roky Moon, and we have two pups, Cloud and Cheeba, and two cats, Pickle and Pumpkin, and we live happily ever after in a cute little house in Hyde Park.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE GO TO COFFEE DRINK?
I am an iced coffee kind of girl. Cold brew or espresso over lots of ice with vanilla non dairy mylk. At home I will use either pea mylk or almond mylk. High protein, hell yeah.
DESCRIBE YOUR MOST MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE ASSOCIATED WITH COFFEE?
My older brother, Levi, was my best friend in the world. He was the person that introduced me to music my whole life, and is responsible for my eclectic taste. After he got sober from alcohol, his coffee consumption skyrocketed, and one of my favorite things was to wake up to him at my front door dragging me out of bed to go get coffee at the only local coffee shop in our area. He always got the biggest size vanilla soy latte, and he could never finish it. I have a very specific memory of driving in his truck, windows down, on a sunny, breezy day in San Antonio, sipping our coffees and listening to The Hellacopters “By the Grace of God” album turned all the way up. Just hearing the intro riff to the album can take me back to that place. I lost my brother to suicide in 2013.
DO YOU MAKE COFFEE AT HOME? IF SO, HOW DO YOU PREPARE IT?
I have a French press, I will make cold brew with sometimes. Just fill it up, put it in the fridge, press it the next morning and it's good. Also, my ex boyfriend got me an espresso machine for Xmas once, and it has stayed strong for many years. I put whatever coffee I have, whether it’s Cafe Bustelo or something fancy like the Savage Gold Espresso my friend Mike Hill (from the band, Tombs) roasts, and just make a double shot, pour it over ice in a mason jar with non dairy mylk, put a stainless steel straw in it, and one of my metal jar lids and I’m out the door. Please note, I am not to be trusted with coffees without lids.

This is a playlist that includes a ton of my favorite riot grrrls and women that don’t give a fuck!!! Brave, powerful, assertive, and really good at their instruments. GRRRL POWER!!!
